2012 YEAR OF GOVERNMENT
I greet you in the most precious name of Jesus. My team and I would like to thank the many people who sent us gifts and cards over the Christmas period. I also very much appreciate all your prayers and kind words.
THE WORD OF THE LORD
2012 is the year of government, it is a year of the coming together of tribes for God’s purposes. I take my text from the book of Genesis chapter 43.
Verse 18 of that chapter reads, ‘‘Now the men were afraid because they were brought into Joseph’s house; and they said, “It is because of the money, which was returned in our sacks the first time, that we are brought in, so that he may make a case against us and seize us, to take us as slaves with our donkeys.”
Saints, Joseph’s brothers were afraid when he invited them to his house.
They were afraid for a number of reasons. Firstly, because they didn’t think they deserved the honor. Secondly, because their consciences were not clear in that they were guilt ridden because they had sold their brother into slavery and third they had cause to be afraid because they had found money in their sacks that they could not explain and they did not know what the servants wanted or what would happen next.
Beloved, it is fair to say that there have been a lot of compromises in the body of Christ that have caused people to be uncertain or even afraid when called to particular positions or invited to participate in particular ventures.
Over a period of fasting and praying with my team I was quite broken by some scriptures God showed me about snares and traps. Yet although many people had been ensnared and entrapped, my heart was filled with hope because I knew that (despite the fact that there will be more shaking this year than we have seen in years past) if we could just get it right there is a place prepared for God’s people.
During the time of fasting and praying I had a dream and in it I saw a very large house with a big gate in front of it. The house had different rooms in it – almost like the houses of Parliament where decisions are made. Beside the house was a large garden.
The rooms in the house were quite prominent and there were different scrolls in the rooms. The occupants of the room were skilful and knew exactly which scroll to use to solve problems presented to them. The atmosphere in the house was light and beautiful and there was a seriousness about the place. I felt that the lightness in the atmosphere was about the people’s thanksgiving because they were thankful for where they were.
I was conscious that the iron bars surrounding the house were boundaries. The bars kept outsiders out but those inside the house could go in and out freely.
As I came out of the building I saw a man that looked like a taxi driver. He had given someone a lift to the house and had then stolen a bench or seat from it. He knew what he had done was wrong but at the time he took the seat he was not challenged. Subsequently the right person challenged him and without resistance he gave back the seat. When the seat was taken from him you knew it could not just be put back anywhere in the garden.
Indeed when it was carried back into the garden, it was almost as though the seat was directing you to put it back in its rightful position. The seat’s rightful position was beside two avocado trees, full of ripe fruits, some as big as melons.
From the tree there was another path that drew your attention because of the peace that it brought. So I started praying about this with a friend of mine in America.
Saints let me explain further. The building represents God’s government, God’s house. The Bible says my house shall be called a house of prayer. The presence of God was so strong, because the people waited for scrolls, downloads from The Lord. There was also so much order there and a family atmosphere of love. It was almost as though the government ministers had been brought back together for a particular purpose.
Their cultural and colour differences didn’t matter. There was so much grace poured upon them because they were in the house of prayer and they ruled from that place. They ruled from His presence and also delegated from that same place. They would not be compromised and nor would they compromise themselves. It was a glorious place to be and recovery was swift because these people leaned on God. They had learned how to lean on Him from their experiences and were passionate about His business.
In the house I also saw two great men of God. Billy Graham and Lester Sumrall. Because I knew who they were I thought they would come over to the gate. However, they didn’t but were focused and down on their faces praying. These two great men represent types of evangelism and spiritual warfare.
I feel that in 2012 we need to pray against the fears that arise when the clans are being called together for God’s work. These fears arise because of past issues, gossip, sin, and deluded imaginations – people thinking that something’s going on when nothing is, seeing others from their own sinful hearts perspectives.
What Joseph’s brothers did not know was that there was a meal prepared and waiting for them.
The power of the “orphan spirit” over lives also needs to be broken. This spirit leads to conditional love, and to divide and rule tactics. Joseph wasted so much time when his brothers first arrived putting them through hoops because he was infected by the “orphan spirit”. Yet there is grace to overcome.
There is a company of people who just want God’s work done and will not be distracted by gimmicks. Pastors beware those who would put you in snares by their conditional giving.
I think we need to fight against traps. Situations where people seek to have dominion over you through conditional promises and giving and are not led by the Holy Spirit. These people look to control others by their gifts, almost wanting to entrap you by their giving. We must come into the place where we prefer our brother or sister and refuse to accept conditional promises and refuse to be ensnared.
It is interesting that my first international trip this year was to the most beautiful place in the world – I think. I saw worship and babies dancing before God for ONE AND A HALF HOURS!!! I felt convicted before I spoke. When I woke up in the mornings I could see the Swiss Alps all around me. I was in the area where Rolex, Swatch and other brand names are made. The region clearly has incredible wealth.
One morning the Lord spoke to me and said “when you govern from the mountaintop, from the place of prayer and all the wealth of the earth will be given to you”.
Decisions were made from that place of prayer, from the mountaintop – that is where you see most clearly.
Saints do remember that although Joseph’s brothers messed up, they still came together to form a siloh because of the famine ahead. As governments begin to crumble there is a coming together of unique resources for the preservation of the harvest.
In this year of tribes gathering for governing I encourage you to lean on Him. Through the stresses and strife this year (and there will be pressures as the enemy challenges the government of God) lean on Him.
No matter the challenges that come my team and I have learned that nothing moves unless God moves first.
This year LEAN ON HIM SAINTS OF GOD…
LEAN, LEAN ON THE LORD.
Grateful for His Love
